Thank you for the info. re. birth of Francis William Hayes. I would like to send off for his Birth Certificate. Do you know which quarter of 1902 the birth was registered as it is required for the application form.

Found them....but although it states no husbands name it states she is married... they are living with Elizabeth Brooking and George who is a seaman...so if Mary is married her husband could also be a seaman.

On the 1891 census, I have checked the image.....and Mary is living with an Elizabeth Brooking a widow aged 77 and her son George Brooking who is single and Marys children.....George and Mary didn't marry until 1893.

Still trying to find Mary and children in 1881....tried Adams and Perring ???? Still looking.

Absolutely fantastic! Am not familiar with the workings of this part of the site so apologies.

Thanks to your info. about 1911 Census I've now got a child Francis William Hayes born about 1903 whom I didn't know existed !

You have also found what definitely looks like my Lily Adams in 1901 Census. Having checked info. I already hold, it appears that her mother, Mary, must have remarried George Brooking after she was widowed.

I really appreciate the time you took to help me. Would you be able to find birth details for Francis William Hayes (b.1903) whom you found on the Census?
