Sorry, I misunderstood your 22:58 post. I find it quite difficult when there is no punctuation. I thought you meant he was on a census as the nephew.

I totally agree that 1871 and 1881 are the same family. Also 1891 WILL be hard as it is quite a common name.

The 1881 census doesn't say he is a nephew. It doesn't have any relationship at all. I can find Alice & Solomon in 1871 but not after that.

So exactly what are you after now? Jane Hearson/Barnes after 1881 or John Barnes after 1881? Or any of the other children?

Ozi.

Sharon

Sharon Report 5 May 2010 23:19

They're elusive once she is married though.

Did you think Jane Crooks was your lady? The children didn't seem to fit, nor her age. In 1881 she's married to a Samuel Barnes. Also you'd think Sarah, Thomas, Edwin & Henry would be with her in 1881.

Sharon, going back to the beginning; have you ever found John & Jane with their children Sarah, Thomas, Edwin and Henry together on a census? Are they the same family? What evidence do you have that any of these names are connected, including Jane Hearson? Marriage certificate? Birth certificate of one of the children?

I'm asking this because I can't find any connections myself.

Ozi

Probably the Jane Hearson found in 1861.
