baptism 10-2-1823 of 'Susan' at Whitworth:

SUSANNAH Cudworth d of James & Betty of Meadow Heads weaver

still not sure that there are not 2 James & Betty couples but anything is possible

reasoning -

in 1816 baptism of Reuben abode Shawforth occupation mason

1818 burial of Reuben age 2 Shawforth

1823 baptism of Susannah abode Meadow Heads occupation weaver

There do seem to be rather a lot of Cudworths in Whitworth baptism register so it was probably a common name for the area.

the other baptisms of children at Bacup I did not have time to look at for abode & occupations but can try again next time

the Bt transcripts for the marriage of James & Betty Fletcher in 1806 give no more details than that they were of the parish and married by banns

re death of Betty

the 2 deaths in 1838 for a Betty Cudworth
1) age 42
2) age 67

1 is too young to have married in 1806
2 is probably too old to be having children as late as 1830

The are the only one mentioned post 1837 up to 1841
