It could be very possible that it is i have come across this before with
a grandad of mine on my dads side he never used his middle name so
it maid it hard to find him he was born with three names but only used two thank you very much for taking the time to find this out for me it is very
much appreciated with best wishes wendy

Was Elizabeth middle name Dane do you know.As there is a baptism record for the parish of Kennington in the county of Surrey for Elizabeth Dane Lewis paerents John and Jane. find it hard to make out the writting on the record I think it says when baptised the Sunday after Christmas 1869 but I am finding it hard to make out the address and parents occupation.I will see if my wife can make it out.

She could be but we do not have a definite date of birth and variations in census are quite large. 1871 on FMP can only be searched by county of birth. Anyone any good at military births?

I still am unable to find her 1871 as she is not with her parents.

Also on 1881 Welsh census there is a John Lewis aged 44 as a visitor at 159 Mensell street Wales the family are the Evans. John occupation is listed as Pensioner Chelsea(army Penr). Maybe they are relitives as there born in the same city as John.

I only have marriage certificate of elizabeth to james it only give;s name
of father which is john and it says he is deceased and rank & prpfession is
corporal in scots fusiliers that.s the only information i have thank you

I have nothing on him only that when elizabeth gets married to john orton
he is deceased that was in 1893 and elizabeth was living in middlesbough
at the time she was 21 or 24 not sure thanks very much wendy
