Find Ancestors

How would i trace the maritime records for a William Ward, when unfortunately i know nothing about the man except for the fact he was at sea during the 1901 census.

any info would be appreciated . Thank you in advance

he had 2 sons (john 1885, william 1892) and 2 daughters (maud 1882, amelia 1890). He was married to Sarah Horton who was born 1855.

I have the 1891 and 1901 census, he is not mentioned on either , but on the 1901 census next to his wifes ( sarah) name , it says "husband at sea"

sorry for sounding so naive, but where do i get the 1911 census from . I can only see upto 1901 . do i have to be a gold member to get access to 1911?

where do you get this sort of info from? i use census's and electoral registers and BMD certs, but am amazed where people find info from.

I'm puzzled by the fact that on the 1891 census , Sarah is 36 (born 1855), in the 1901 census she is 46 (again born 1855), but on the 1911 census she is 50 (born 1860). How can there be a difference of 5 years?

Re Sarah's age on 1911.

This has been mistranscribed - the image actually says she is 56 not 50 !
