Families did like to live close to each other back then. Lucky you being still in the area to look into the archives.

I've been looking at the addresses on google map Wolverhampton is quite big now and I knew of a Bilston Road but not of a Bilstons Street. Then when I looked at the map I realised that all the houses had been knocked down and what is in their place? Bilston Street Police Station (w'ton central station). How could I not remember they were there! So no old houses to look at.

What is also disappointing, most of the ancestors had been baptised, married and buried at St Georges Church, W'ton. Churchgrounds ie gravestones no longer there. Site has been redeveloped and the church turned into ........Sainsbury's! Now I know they have had sightings of ghosts in the church part of the supermarket - could be my ancestors! lol.

Thanks to all the help you have given me, I have found 2 descendants of Penelope Thompson (Zachariah's sister) on GR and we are exchanging information. Always nice to make contact with other people connected to your tree, particularly when they are as interested in family research as you are. (my lot are not interested!).

have to get back to work now.
Thank you again.
and best wishes
Dee
