Brilliant Travelman - I am convinced that Isabella McIntosh is the name because among all the common names in the family there is an Isabella later on. Fantastic ; no-one ever knew until now.

Margaret...all the census stuff appeasr correct.with Thomas being a widow in both1881 and 1891..successivelky at 6 Lockhurst St and then 4 Scott Street.

you mention Macintosh.just to put the cat among the pigeons..Thomas Dickinson married ISABELLA Macintosh at Holy Trinity Hull 1851!!!!

That would be the daughter Margaret's family : tis her Mom's maiden name which eludes us. I am sure she was a Macintosh, but have no other proof beyond family stories and they are all gone now.

You are so fast at finding facts that I have searched for ages to locate.

The Canning Street addy and names of children are correct.... and the Margaret, wife of Thomas, born in Scotland would fit in with family lore ... if I sent for their wedding cert. would that give her maiden name?

Withison and Widdinson are mis-spellings of Widdowson .... so you are right on with the marriage, children etc.

Family lore has it that Mfr. Thiomas Dickinson's wife came from Scotland - perhaps Mackintosh clan.
