Goodnight nudge.

Dozey Report 20 May 2010 18:26

Hi again Kiwibird. Do I know you???

I do correspond with a relative by marriage who lives in NZ and she's on GR. Just thought I'd ask. Probably not - because I do not think she visits the boards much.

Hi Sylvia

You were right behind me this evening but by then I'd switched off. I'm a bit of a Corrie fan. Assume you know what that is.

Turn up for the book today. E-mail from actual blood relative. Her great great grandfather was the older brother of my grandfather (no greats in the latter)! I was busy this afternoon pulling together my notes on her line. Sent them to her to see if we agree. Found relatives score now - 3 by blood and 3 by marriage.

Time to put my head down.

Hi Jeanie

I do know Corrie ........ even used to watch it in its early days (Ena Sharples et al), but we left England in 1967 and didn't have a TV for the next 7 or so years.

By the time we got a TV and they started carrying Corrie over here, I was so far out of the loop that I never got back into it.

Did have a rather weird experience though when I went with my sis-in-law to register my brother's death in 1990. As she dealt with all the "stuff", I stood at a window looking rather vaguely down at a street scape below me ........................ I finally realised why it was so familiar

It was Coronation Street!!

The registry place was in an office building very close to the Corrie set.

That really must have felt weird. My sister lives "up north" but do not think she has ever been to the set. I couldn't stand a long distance journey like that. Thank goodness for e-mails - we keep in touch almost daily. Not for the next couple of days though. One of her son's is up for the weekend. She'll be too busy.

Had to flex my muscles this morning. Cat ran straight across in front of us. Suicidal animal! In front of 2 ex-racing greyhounds. They're normally quite laid back with cats - but not when they are that close and RUNNING. I've developed muscles in my arms I didn't know existed.

Talk to you later no doubt.

Hi Jeaniealogist
you may have helped me on one of my threads, have been on Genes since 2004 tree building, but have only recently over the last couple of months become active on the Boards.

Another goodnight nudge.

Well I hope you are right Kiwibird. Regrettably I am rather limited on the help I can give on the searching side anyway. Try to pass on what I have learned whilst doing this myself if I think it could be helpful to someone else.

Cannot believe it. It is actually HOT today. Lovely.

Dozey Report 22 May 2010 09:33

A real joy this morning. Sun blazing down. Hawthorn blossom coming out and with copper beech against the other green leaved trees an absolute picture. Good to be alive. I know we go on about weather a bit but it makes such a difference to how you feel doesn't it?

Dozey

Dozey Report 22 May 2010 15:15

Hi

I'm finally here!

The weather surely does make a big difference.

It's cloudy and sunny here, with the percentages of each changing almost by the minute!

Sylvia

Thanks for the suggestion and had a look at thread on Tips Board. "small coterie of people" - like your vocabulary! Grammar school, university? :-))))
I'll be pleased to join it. Only too willing to help when I can - which isn't often.

Off to have a long warm soak to ease the old age aches & pains - lovely.

Dozey

Dozey Report 23 May 2010 12:48

That's much better. Didn't really take that long, honest!
