Hi, earlier today I had a lot of help regarding a Hannah White and William Glover Marriage, Tynemouth 1875. This is the only marriage I have been able to find for said names. my problem is her fathers name appears to be wrong. I wondered if anyone may have access to parish records, and could help by finding out if his name is given. Its a long shot I know but dont know how else I can find out which is correct, Given name is Francis White should be Bransby White, hope someone will be able to help many thanks Chrys. |

To look at parish records, you would have to specify the church in which the marriage took place. |

Hi Freewheel, heres what I have, birth cert my granma Emily Glover born Sept 1881 Leeds address on cert 63 Ellesby lane, 1881 census William Glover and Anna Glover same address. It says Anna but Im sure it should say Hannah as on cert. William gives place of birth as Leeds, Hannah as Whitby. Marriage Cert only one I have been able to find for a Glover and a White Parish Church of Tynemouth Northumbaland, I know Hannah is still with her father in 1871 but cannot find her as a White after that date, I thought It may have been she moved away to work, or had something to do with william being in army, marriage cert says HM 105 Regiment. Her age is given as 25 which would be right for Hannah born Whitby to Bransby and Hannah White 1850 Whitby. regards Chrys. |

Hi Barbara, yes you are right, they are all in Yorkshire, I have the marriage Cert, for Hannah White and William Glover, its just I cant find her as a White after 1871, but dont know why her father is a Francis White as I have looked and looked but cant find one with a Hannah as daughter anywhere. regards Chrys. |

Right, I've had a look at 1881 - certainly seems that it could be the same 'girl' |

Hi Freewheel, thanks so much for your help, Hannahs fathers occupation says Mason, and I thought Bricks( one census i believe says he is a Brickayer Forman,) There is only one witness, a Emily Waggner, the other just isnt there only half of what looks like the first letter,so not much help. I just dont know how else I can determine what her fathers actual name was, dont want to run away with the wrong ones. I have sent messages to everyone on genes that have Bransby on thier trees but up to now no one has a marriage for Hannah. regards Chrys. |

Hi Barbara This is the right family, my granma was born Sept 1881 so not on the census, but if you notice the son John is born about a year after the marriage in 1875 ,and in Aldershot, I presume at this time William was still in the army, perhaps this is why Hannah married in Tynemouth rather then in Yorkshire. Her fathers profession was given as Mason, so I thought bricks!. I dont think its likely that the parish records of thier marriage would give fathers names but cant think how else I can find out for sure what Hannahs fathers name was, thanks for your help regards Chrys. |

To respond to your initial query, one can access the records at Morpeth, or, if that's not too accessible, by renting a film to view at a nearby LDS FHC - you can find these via the centre column at: |
