Many thanks to you all for the replies. No I haven't asked about this birth certificate here, perhaps somebody else has. According to my family, Sidney did not have a middle name. And yes I have his mariage cert, he married Fanny Heath in Dec of 1915 in Walthamstow. According to the family, Sidney was the youngest of Emma, Daisy, Nell, Maude, Forrie, Ted and George. And also Emma and George Griffin never married. I think that this is the family in 1891

i did find a Sidney Griffin on ancestry born 1893 district of Paddington and county Middlesex. Is that the same area?

If you go back to the 1891 census, there is Emma Crawford and son Edward as lodgers. Emma Crawford was Emma Crump!!!!

Choccy - I was looking at that and wondering too but you seem to have a lot more skill in searching out more details. I'll have to find out what happened to Mr Crawford. no body has ever mentioned this, interesting!!!
