Can you say where you have the name from? There's nothing in the GRO for the name at FreeBMD, so no marriage. A child's birth certificate?

PaulaW

PaulaW Report 3 Sep 2009 16:20

What was your grandmothers married name and who did she marry.

Perhaps someone can help from that.

This looks like a complete mistransciption to me BUT I might be wrong?

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 3 Sep 2009 16:24

Closest thing FreeBMD finds for YO*NN

Deaths Mar 1910
Yomwynn Dora 46 Hackney 1b 274

and I wouldn't be surprised if that's mistranscribed somewhere along the way.

I'm with Paula here, that's why I was wondering whether it was a secondary source.

Nothing on Ancestry either with that name. Also nothing on this site so you don't have her name entered here.

Nothing on the surnames sites either

Try giving us more details.....forename, year of birth, and her husband's full name. Then we may be able to provide some help.

Which of your grandparents was her child? What was his/her name? When was he/she born?

Also on surname board have suggested delete the thread on that board.

I'm still a bit confused - is 'Yoglynn' her married or maiden name? There are a few similar names on FreeBMD but without dates or places it's a bit difficult to tell whether any of these are yours:

PM from doedy:

hi janey ! thanks for your response i got the name from my grandmothers birth registration but cant trace it any where else

Always reply in the thread! It's not easy to find, but click the purple Reply button at the top and a box will open for the reply. Saves PMing a dozen people. ;)

Looks like it's a mistranscription.

Can you offer up the info you have?

Child's name, both parents' full names, date/place of birth?

Nooooo, doedy. *In the thread* please!!

The purple Reply button at the top. Us copying back and forth is tedious.
