A quick thought,you could look through school registers for them round the 1911 address that you now know they were at, as that may have which home they were in.

I am afraid I cant help with childrens homes,but no doubt someone else will be able too.

Maybe a Post on the Records board asking how to find out where to find details for homes in that area and timescale would get you some help.

hi all thought you would all like an update. well my nan'a birth cert has arrived and she was born 16th nov 1901 in aston birmingham.her father was william john edwards and her mother was rose edwards nee jarvis. they lived at garrison street aston. my nan also had a brother john(jack) and william edwards. i have since spoken to my 2nd cousin jack's son and he has told me that the my nan and two brothers were sent to an orphanage.i presume in birmingham , how do i go about fininding this info out? maybe the library in the archives and did they keep a register at these homes?

Willey ,male child
Winey,female child.

Terrible mistranscripions I will bet.
So we have her with her brothers.

we thought the mother of winifred was matilda neale but now not certain. we know winifred had a brother called willaim and a brother jack who married a florence but thats it flo and jack lived in saltley in birmingham but there again.!!!

grandmothers name winifred ellen edwards born 15/11/1900 in birmingham. this is where i think i went wrong because i found this family ebenezer j edwards matilda edwards arnold then winifred. but on her birth cert it says her fathers name is william edwards and he was a railway drayman
