for the benefit of other helpers, pm from Theresa:-

Hi,
The info re Frederick and Emily for 190l matches exactly. Yes he was born in Willesden. They lived at 54 Darenth Road, St Ronans, Dartford.
In the 1911 Census they were living at 18 Somerset Road, Dartford and they had another daughter called Hilda Doris age 9.
In the Death Registry there was a Frederick Charles who died at the age of 57 in Dartford in 1927. Also Emily Jane aged 59 in Apr/May/June (2a 826).in 1931.
Their son Frederick Charles died whiulst serving on ss Greyhound which was sunk off Crete during WW2. He was 45..
I also found an entry for Percy Wilfrid who died age 63 in Apr/May/June 1961 (5b 4528) in Dartford.

Checking births for Job Thompson born between 1839 and 1841anywhere in the country only two show:-
Births Mar 1839 (>99%)
Thompson Job East Retford 15 494
The district East Retford is in the county of Nottinghamshire

and this one:-
Births Jun 1840 (>99%)
Thompson Job Wycombe 6 431
The district Wycombe spans the boundaries of the counties of Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire
1871 census gives Job's birth place as Buckinghamshire so this one is looking good!

Problem is I can't find any of them in 1881 census?

Catherine Report 11 Aug 2009 22:35

and this is very possibly Job and Sarah in 1871:-

Name: Sarah Thompson
Age: 40
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1831
Relation: Wife
Spouse's Name: Job
Gender: Female
Where born: Tunbridge, Kent, England

Address: Chapman Cottages

Civil parish: Willesden
Ecclesiastical parish: St Mary
County/Island: Middlesex
Country: England
Registration district: Hendon
Sub-registration district: Willesden
ED, institution, or vessel: 2
Household schedule number: 373
Household Members:
Name Age
Job Thompson 32 (1839) - (although could be 52 (1819) )
born: Holbure, Buckinghamshire
Occupation is noted as A G Labourer
Sarah Thompson 40

note registration district is Hendon, sub reg. dist.: Willesden!

Recap:-
1871 the couple were living reg.dist. Hendon (Willieden)
1873 Frederick was born same district
1891 Sarah and Frederick were living reg.dist. Paddington
so Job died some time between 1873 and 1891 possibly either reg.dist. Hendon or Paddington but both are Middlesex, (although could be anywhere).

Doing a phonetic sound search for a death for Job Thompson between 1873 and 1891 in Middlesex there are only two deaths that come up.
This one:-
Deaths Sep 1874 (>99%)
THOMPSON Job 63 Pancras 1b 52
(making date of birth 1811)

and this one which I'm thinking is more likely as a death for Job:-
Deaths Mar 1891 (>99%)
Thompson Job 50 Paddington 1a 19
this will make his date of birth 1841which fits with 1871 census!

If Sarah is Frederick's mother, then there are several possible marriages for Job and Sarah, but only one in Middlesex:-

Marriages Mar 1858 (>99%)
FRASER Mary St Martin in the F 1a 361
GOLDRING Thomas St Martin in the F 1a 361
Thompson Job St Martin in the F 1a 361
Wakefield Sarah St Martin in the Fields 1a 361

The district St Martin in the Fields is in the county of Middlesex

The birth cert. will confirm if this is correct!

This could very possible be Frederick in 1891 with his mother:-

Name: Fredk C Thompson
Age: 18
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1873
Relation: Son
Mother's Name: Sarah
Gender: Male
Where born: Willesden, Middlesex, England

Civil parish: Paddington
Ecclesiastical parish: St Peter
County/Island: London
Country: England

Street Address:

Occupation: (looks like) Milk Labourman

Condition as to marriage: Single

Registration district: Paddington
Sub-registration district: St Mary Paddington
ED, institution, or vessel: 27
Neighbors: View others on page
Household Members:
Name Age
Louisa Kirton 69
Sarah Thompson 60 (1831) - Lodger - born: Tunbridge, Kent
(Widow) Caretaker
Fredk C Thompson 18

So is this the couple in 1901 ?

Name: Frederick C Thompson
Age: 28
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1873
Relation: Head
Spouse's Name: Emily J
Gender: Male
Where born: Willesdon, London, England

Civil parish: Dartford
Ecclesiastical parish: Holy Trinity
Town: Dartford
County/Island: Kent
Country: England

Occupation: Bricklayers Labourer

Registration district: Dartford
Sub-registration district: Dartford
ED, institution, or vessel: 5
Neighbors: View others on page
Household schedule number: 218
Household Members:
Name Age
Frederick C Thompson 28
Emily J Thompson 29 born: Dartford, Kent
Evelyn M Thompson 6 born: Dartford, Kent
Frederick C Thompson 5
Percy W Thompson 3

so Frederick was born Willesden!

Births Mar 1873 (>99%)
Thompson Frederick Charles Hendon 3a 140

Hendon was the registration district for Willesden until 1909!
If you buy the cert. it will give you his parents names and mother's maiden name.

Possible ?
Marriages Sep 1893 (>99%)
COLYER Emily Dartford 2a 871
Hollands Emily Jane Dartford 2a 871
Hook Charles Dartford 2a 871
Thompson Frederick Charles Dartford 2a 871

and there is a Job Thompson born 1859:-
Births Sep 1859 (>99%)
Thompson Job Chorlton 8c 483
The district Chorlton is in the county of Lancashire

but then Job must have had his son when he was very young for him to marry in 1893 and Frederick would also have to have been very young when he also married, so ........?

We really need to know his surname here and maybe the date of the marriage?

EDIT:-
pm
Frederick Charles Thompson married Emily Jane Hollands on. 9th Sept 1893. Frederick was 20 and Emily was 22. The marriage took place at Dartford Registry Office. Job Thompson was listed as Frederick's father but was deceased. Both F and E were living in Dartford at the time of the marriage.
