Hello,

A family member soon to celebrate his 80th birthday would like to know what happened to his dad.

I suppose this come under what we now call "Closure" and so he sees it as important to find out.

About 1937, Andrew George Chamberlain (born 1889) left his family home with a Violet M Richards (nee Howell) and disappeared into the ether.

Where did they go?. Did they marry or go their separate ways or perhaps emigrate.

I've searched the death registers from 1937 to date on Ancestry for Andrew and have drawn a blank.

I need to be a little careful with information as there are living relatives.

There is no lack of knowledge of Andrew George's life up to 1937 so it's what happened to him from that date I am seeking information on.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Thanks
Paul

Paul, did Violet have any children? I assume she was the person marrying in Carduff 1927?
I'll pm you with some births. Just ignore of course if irrelevant!

Hello both,
They both left children behind which is quite sad and all the children are known to each other as they are related.
My focus is on where they may have gone after that date as neither family or the children ever heard from them after this date.

Many thanks
Paul

This is quite something isn't it? I wonder why they cut all ties.

Hello Sandra & Vivienne,
There's always a possibility of reversing your name and I cannot dismiss it. I'll definitely take a close look at the border crossings and see if it throws up any further information.
Many thanks for your input.

Hi Paul

Sorry realised that I just added that birth as there were no
George Andrew Chamberlain births for that year so the post that Viv and Sandra saw was a good lead.

Good luck in your search!

Hello Sablon,
That's the marriage for Andrew. However I'm interested in what happened 15 years later when he left the family home.
Thanks

Hello Vivienne,
Just checked out George Andrew Chamberlain you suggested in the Canadian Crossings. His place of birth is given as Ontario, Canada so unfortunately it's not him.
Thanks

Hi Paul.
You still havent given any details for Violet, maybe they went under her name/names if they wanted to lose themselves?

HeadStone Report 26 Jul 2009 16:38

Hello Vivienne,
I know nothing else about Violet M Richards other than her maiden name was Howell as I said in my initial posting. She may have been born in Cardiff 1907 but I am not too sure.
Andrew George Chamberlain was married to a 'Richards' and so was Violet.

Bye
Paul
