But as you give no location for the people you are looking for I couldnt say if it is the correct one.

Their marriage with the ,hill, mistranscribed as mills??

The Wynn-Mills marriage could be somebody else, but I don't see another likely candidate marriage for the parents of those children.

Mind you, there are Wynn-Hill births in South Shields after 1911, and no obvious matching marriage ...

they were from the newcastle area but have no information other than that

I suggest that you get yourself some credit on the 1911 census and look at the one that I have put up to see if they are the correct ones.
It will give you where they were born and when they married.

Or buy the marriage that I found and that will give their ages and fathers names.

I believe this is the family in the 1911 census.
There are no other James in the census b1906 in Newcastle. There is only one other Michael Wynn b.1847 & one other Annie Wynn b1862 in the census in Newcastle.

From the transcript below Michael & Annie have been married for 15 yrs.

Sorry JaneyCanuck. I think the info I posted in the 1st paragraph may have caused some confusion. The info I put regarding Michael Wynn b.1847 & Annie Wynn b1862. Was to show that they were the only other possible names in Newcastle,1911 census. & by their ages they're unlikely to be the people Kelly's looking for.

In the transcription of the family provided, Michael is born c1877 & Annie born c1879, marriage 1895 or 1896.

It seems very possible that Michael and Annie weren't married because at least one of them was married to someone else.


It looks like the 1886 marriage was to Jane Elliott, and she had children already:

The grandmother shown as Birrel is a problrmatical. As there are no Birrel - Wynn marriages in England & Wales.

I still like the one in Newcastle - right in the exact same parish in 1891 as Georgina is in 1901. And with Georgina born 1896ish, I like the DOB for that Michael better:

The 1891 makes him born 1872/3, the 1911 makes him born later -- but as the 1891 and 1901 for that family show, they have pretty little regard for birthdates!

Annie in 1911 is really quite young to have had a child in 1896.

Of course, she could just as easily be messing with her age ...
