I should just clarify that the details for Elizabeth Jane Holland and her birth date are from her birth certificate.

For James Cook, I admit the dob was from my nan and I took that as being correct and should have checked this, so I apologise and will go back and confirm where she took this information from.

I appreciate both of your help so far, but will ask you to not spend any further time on it so I can get the facts correct.

Lesley, you certainly have more info about James William Cook, provided in this thread:

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.asp?wci=thread&tk=1083948

His parents' marriage, for starters.

The household of Joseph and Agnes Cook with son James is in the 1911 census in West Ham.

Janey,

I've just been spending some time on my notes when I was last looking at this (as you saw from my previous post, this was September 08). You are right and I did manage to find a lot of information on James Cook's family and I guess the only piece that was missing as you had pointed out was his dob being incorrect. I have now found someone of his name in 1903 and will request that certificate. I have also found the details on the 1911 census now.

I was a little quick to start this thread before looking at all my notes again after such a long time. Will obviously check this before I post again, if I do and apologise for wasting your time.

Well the 1911 wasn't available when the old thread was up, so we've made progress there, anyhow!

Will be watching for updates ...

Well, yes, that is true and also I hope Ive found James Cook's dob. Have just requested the certificate now, so we'll see. Will keep digging around the Shepheards as well and see whether there is a possibility that she remarried.

Thanks again.
