Find Ancestors

Hi all,

hope someone can help me? i'm trying to find a birth index for my nan,
My Nans name is Joan Warren born 10 April 1920 im not sure where she was born?
My Nan had her first 2 children in Dartford Kent Joan Dell b1937 & Walter b1938 then another 2 children David b1943 & Michael b1946 Burton upon Trent,
she married my Grandad Elias William Dell b1912 also Dartford Kent at Gravesend Register Office on 21 Dec 1936 the marriage cert states that she is 17 years old at the time, which makes her birth year 1919?
Her fathers name which is on the marriage cert says,
Wilfred Henry Warren (deceased) i have tried looking for Wilfred Henry Warren but can not find any thing on him either, so if anyone can give me any ideas on how to try & find My nans birth or on how to find Wilfred it would be appreciated.

Sorry trying to get my head together, did she def not have a middle name or not one that you know of?

Incidentally, is your nan still alive? If she has sadly died when was this?

Sadly she died in Bromley 1985 & my uncle in 2000, my dad in 1999 Walter died when he was a baby, & im not sure if Daughter Joan is still alive so i have no-one left to ask which is a shame! but a big thankyou for trying to help me, oh sorry no def did not have middle name,

arh this will confuse everyone she died Nov 1985 65 years district Bromley Kent under the name Freeman this is her second married name, First married name was Dell, her maiden name was Warren

yep thats her i have her death cert is says on there that my step-grandad John Freeman registered her & that she was born in the district of Fulham London, I did find a Index number for a birth for warren in 1918 in Fulham, i did send for that birth cert but when it came through it had the wrong fathers name on it & to make matters worse she was an only child.

It's not confusing at all!!

I was just finding the death to verify the birth details and anything else that might help us.

The only problem with her death details is they were probably given by either one of her children or her spouse. This data might not be as accurate as you would like! She may have had a middle name and they may not have known it!

The daughter Joan, do you have any data on her at all? We could maybe find her and see what that throws up?

Thanks, Daughters name is Joan Janet Dell born 6 june 1937 Dartford Kent think she married a Mr Ludlow

Do you know the forname of her husband?

Does the name alfred ring any bells? Could she still be in the Kent area?

I have found a Joan J Ludlow living with an Alfred in Kent on the current electoral roll.

Ok,

Without getting your hopes up, there is a person living with them that carries the Ludlow surname. It would not be fair to name them here as they are still living. This person's birth record shows her mothers maiden name is Dell.

BUT I can find no other births for an Elias Dell in Dartford around the time that you said, i.e 1912 (?)

That Elias Dell that you found is my Grandads Uncle Elias Dell married Ellen Dell
My Grandad Elias William Dell was born 19 Dec 1912 but was registered under the name of Fryer until 1925 when he was re registered as Dell when his mother & father married
