Dear Quinsgran,

Many thanks for the extra IGI info. I will see if I can find someone who has a Gold GR membership. I didn't manage to find the census record on Ancestry and haven't had time to look this evening.

I'm not going to be able to do any researching until Sunday, but will check into my thread again then.

Once again, many thanks,
Rebecca

Rebecca.
Do you know anyone who has Gold membership on GR which gives you 6 months access to bmds, census etc.
I know there are several who have got this membership

I found your John Daniell 1846 Warminster on here on the 1851 census.( AS TRANSCRIBED)

1851 census
John Daniells 1806 Upton Lovell living Warminster
Emma Daniells 1806 born Beckley living Warminster
Charles Daniells 1841 born Upton Lovell living Warminster.
Eliza Daniells 1845 Upton Lovell living Warminster

If you just put Daniells living Warminster heaps come up. Perhaps you can locate John junior living with a relative

Also by putting Daniell I found a William 1777 born Warminster.

On the IGI
John Daniell 2nd Mar 1806 Warminster. Parents William Daniell and Rebekah Ann Gaisford

John married 14th Feb 1831 Warminster but no spouse name given
Unfortunately a submitted entry but worth checking

Lets us know how John junior is mistranscribed on Ancestry if you find him

Andrea

Andrea Report 5 May 2009 21:55

Indeed, but at least I have 2 extra siblings Charles and Eliza together with his parents.

I'm still hunting Ancestry for the 1851 census with HO107/1843 for the family. The original census is very difficult to read, so Ancestry could have transcribed the surname as Oan..... or anything........

Agree, it's expensive for what it offers, but it did bring me closer to hunting down the family, so worth the money. I have 275 credits left....

I'm off to get some sleep now.

Thanks once again.

Regards,
Rebecca

What a rip off only showing 1 person and not family members or who they are living with

So John junior could be with grandparents or anyone ?

Andrea

Andrea Report 5 May 2009 21:35

50 credits for a transcipt - only shows 1 person and not family members - just like the copy/pastes I added in here. 75 credits for the original census, except no mention of the full reference!!, so now I'm searching high and low on Ancestry without luck so far to find the same census piece......

Rebecca

Thats great Rebecca.
I noticed the cost of credits is 5 pounds for 500 hundred.

How many credits for each search?

Andrea Report 5 May 2009 21:21

Hi Quinsgran,

Thank you!!! I've got them!!!! It was 3rd time lucky on the official 1901census site!!

The first 2 were linked to the corn dealer and a gardener - both are incorrect as I hold a copy of both John juniors birth certs who were born in 1846 (same yr as mine), however I've seen full trees with these 2 kids and they're not mine.

Full transcription for John Daniell - 1851
Name John Daniell
Age 5
Estimated Year of Birth 1846
Relationship to Head of Household SON
Occupation SCHOLAR
Birth Place Warminster
Birth County WILTSHIRE
Address Bread Street
District Warminster, Warminster
Administrative County Wiltshire

Full transcription for John Daniels
Name John Daniels
Age 45
Estimated Year of Birth 1806
Relationship to Head of Household HEAD
Occupation CORN DEALER
Birth Place Warminster
Birth County WILTSHIRE
Address Pound Street
District Warminster, Warminster
Administrative County Wiltshire

The one that is correct shows John Daniells and Emma Daniells with children Charles Daniells aged 10 and Eliza Daniells aged 6 - no John jr. Wonder where he was........ I only viewed the original census for this which is in PDF format. The ref reads HO107/1843. I'll see if I can now find it on Ancestry using this ref.

Once again many thanks and also to Keith (sweet dreams).

Regards,
Rebecca

Hi Rebecca.
Hope you got my added info

Andrea

Andrea Report 5 May 2009 21:07

I think I might just purchase some credits to the official 1901census site as that 1851 5yr old John Daniell might be mine..... I don't see his parents, but maybe he was staying with family.... Shame that the credts are only valid for 7 days!!

Rebecca

Quinsgran where have you found this please? Which Site? The only one I can see on Ancestry is age 8. FMP does not cover wiltshiire yet in 1851.

Edit crossed postings, maybe thats why I cannot find him, will check name variations.

Second edit, cannot see any John b 1846 with parents John and Emma in Warminster unfortunately.

1851.
John Daniell age 5 living Warminster.

Im using the official 1901 census where you can also check the other census. I have found on this site names that have been missing on Ancestry

Quinsgran, the only one I can see is the incorrect one I posted.

Rebbeca, sorry have to leave this now, time for bed here (nearly midnight) and have to work in the morning.

Keith,

I think Quinsgran's find is the same as your corn dealer find - the son here is also born 1843.

Rebecca

Sorry Keith I should have said 1851 census

Andrea

Andrea Report 5 May 2009 20:49

Unfortunately he didn't "step up". I happened upon the owner of a tree for the corn dealer with the complete line and it's definitely not mine.

The search continues......

Many thanks,
Rebecca

Quinsgran, what year have you found, will take a look.

Rebbeca, I noticed John was an Ag Lab in 1841, maybe stepped up?
