Can someone look up John Rist (1813) born Wix Essex on the 1851 census, cant find him on the 1861, found him on the 1871 living in Colchester with his wife Rebecca Rist (1813)

I've done Rist look ups before in the past day or so, was this you or could someone else be looking for Rists too?

Could he have had a previous wife Mary? There's one in 1851 who was born 1816, Wix. He was an ironmonger master employing 2 men and an apprentice, living in Colchester, Essex.

The same one is a widower in 1861, mistranscribed Bish but original is Rist.

Hi All, yes that is him, I have him on the 1871 in Colchester occupation Ironmonger........wife Rebecca, so looks like he remarried.

Ann, I usually bookmark everything...so keep key individuals seperate, its just my queer way of working!

Can anyone find him on the 1861..have tried all ways and still trying!

Looking at the 1841, there is a John Rist in the household of the family Beard.......also in the household is a Rebecca Beard.

There is a marriage on free bmd with John Rist and Rebecca Beard September/1863.......I wonder......love rekindled some 20 years later!

No, not married on 1861 census. Perhaps they eloped to Shoreditch ... her long lost love

Wilma, Is she single on both census? I have found a marriage of John Rist possibly to Mary green........I dont believe it! The two families that are intertwined pre 1800's are Greens & Rists, and now another Green!

Still no luck finding John Rist in 1861, where do these people vanish to!
