Hi, can anyone find my gran on the 1911 census, I have credits so I am not asking you to buy the record, its just that I cant find her in the search boxes. I have found the record for her father but she is not living with him. I believe she had a sister Gertrude that was married and traveling the country at this time so my gran may have been with her. Here is the family in the 1901 census for ref. |

hi thanks for your help on this one. I have found a marriage that I think is for Gertrude. Gertrude Maud Jordan 1907 in Newcastle upon Tyne. My Gran, Hettie or Hetty, was born Byker Newcastle Northumberland in 1893, I have her birth cert, she married in 1913. I know she left home young as she did not get on with her fathers partner, who was actually down as a servent living with William jordan in 1911. I thought she may have been living with her sister Gertrude, but of course I am only assuming so she could be anywhere. Does that help narrow down the search at all, hope so I have tried all combinations on the 1911 census and she does not show up at all. Her husband Richard Chaters who she married in 1913 does not seem to want to be found either. He was living in Gateshead in 1901, his father dies in 1905. His siblings were: |

hi again, yes I have the one in london now, but her full name was Hetty elizabeth and there is a one for Leicestershire age 17, I think I will give that one a try and see what it brings up, I will get back to you when I get the record, in the mean time has anyone had any luck with Richard Chaters, her husband. they married in Gateshead Durham and ived there for a number of years, Richard was a coal miner. |

Thanks for the info on the Cresswell's you seem to have them all ok. I dont think my gran was a suffreget, but there was a storey of her going away to have a baby, and I believe Gertrude may have taking the child as her own. I have looked for births for a jordan toa jordan, and there was this one; Births Sep 1911 Jordan George A Jordan Wolverhampton 6b 1048. Although I dont knew if it was true or not and have not gone into it any further. I cant find a search box for Wolverhampton on 1911, so cant rule it out as yet. Any ideas what area that came under. this is all Whisperd gossip, I dont know if there is any truth in it, but in 1911 it would have been hushes up. |
