My grandfather Frederick Tasker Blackburn was the last of 4. 1st was William then Lily and Violet. 2 birth certificates I have got are correct (freds and violets). The other 2 I am unsure of. I know my Great Grandmother was Elizabeth Morris(s) before her marriage. 2 of the other certificates are Elizabeth Viner and the childrens names match up. On the certificates I have Lily was born after Violet but Violets daughter say Lily was older than her mother. If there are any of Williams or Lilys family out there maybe I can get it sorted.

Have you found the family on the 1901 census ?

As you have Violets birth certificate, could you please share her date, & place, of birth with us .

Then we might be able to find this family

I think we can conclude that this is Elizabeth, a few porkies, says she's a widow , and no it doesnt look as if she married him either.

I'm curious about this one 1911
GUDGIN, ALFRED HEAD MARRIED 4 M 46 PAINTER HOUSE CHERRYBOUNCE HAMPSTEAD
GUDGIN, ELIZABETH WIFE MARRIED 4 F 45 HOLLWAY
BLACKBURN, WILLIAM STEP SON SINGLE M 21 PAINTER HOUSE TOTTENHAM
BLACKBURN, FREDERICK STEP SON SINGLE M 8 PAINTER HOUSE TOTTENHAM

once again Elizabeth may have adjusted her age ? and forgotten to marry him too ? You might think about buying the full 1911 to see how many children she admitted to having .

From Christine

Hi Julie,
Violet Amelia Blackburne was born 29th November 1896.
Father was James Blackburne, mother Elizabeth Blackburne formerly Morris.
Grandads was 8th September 1902.
Father was listed as William Blackburn and mother Elizabeth Blackburn formerly Morriss.
As you can see letters get added and removed.
I have not found the family on the 1901 census. Both children where born in Tottenham so they must have been there in 1901

Lindsey, I know she had 4 children. I think William was put in a home for a while. I think in the 1950's he lived with his wife Voilet in West Green Road. I know it was Tottenham. In a letter my aunt wrote my mother it said grandma Blackburn was a bit of a girl and all the children had different fathers, but I had thought she had married William James Blackburn but it is looking less likely.

Where did you get the info on Violet Blackburn in service from. I will check with my great aunt and ask her if she knew if her mother was in service at any time.

Thank you all of you for your help, it has opened up more avenues to check.

Hi , I dont think I have spent 2 days on a search before, and I'm all blackburned out.!
I've looked at a tree owned by an american and she has got the wrong parents attached to her relative,{william Tasker} so she is not related.

William Tasker Blackburn 1823 and Eliza Matilda had
Sarah Matilda 1851, Thomas1854, William 1848, followed by Harry, Mary, Maria,Frederick 1868 and Annie,
Both Williams and Harry were butchers.

You will know for next time that you need to keep all your answers on the board so we can all compare results. and although I guessed she hadnt married it might have helped if you said that at the beginning! Perhaps because Elizabeth was Jewish her birth family may have changed their name or not spelt them correctly.although she gives her place of birth as Upper Holloway.

You need to get the 1911 census for Violet, and for William and Frederick on line, that way you can see what the original says and where they were living. They cost about £3 .

Thanks Lindsey, I will have a look at the William Tasker Blackburns and try and find a link. It does state on Williams certificate as his father being a butcher and a journeyman.

Although I have had my tree on here for a while, I haven't thought to use the community before.

Thank you all once again and if any of you find out anymore I will be eager to read it.

Now if you go to Ancestry trees put Sarah Tasker 1786 with father Francis and mother Mary you will find a tree that will take her line back to 1600s

Now I shall probably get told off for not just pointing you in the right direction and leaving you to it , but you do need to check it all before you enter any of it onto your tree. and of course Lily is still a big question.?
