if she was born in Ardleigh, then it makes the 1891 Census found earlier by Ricochet, probably the correct one.

At least, she is the only Clara Lott born in Ardleigh, Esses, that turns up

You can confirm this by buying her marriage certificate .... that is the only way to be sure that we are following the correct family backwards.


Take the information you were given on page 1 of this thread, make a note of the 2 sets of numbers that follow the place name

Go to www.gro.gov.uk

click on Order Certificates Online

Fill out the form. When they ask if you ahve the GRO reference number, sa y yes (that's the set of 2 numbers)


Each certificate will cost £7

Just to add Clara cant be on the 1881 census since she was born after census night
