Jane , is it from the church records you have the date of John and Catharine's marriage? if so what was her maiden name do you know.... it might just help to know it in case she was staying with a relative on census night ? |

I don't think you can rely on ages at death always being correct. I have much more recent death certificates where the age at death is anything up to 5 years out. It all depends on the informant's knowledge and people didn't place so much emphasise on birthdays in those days. |

Hi again Kath, have just looked on NBI & age is given as 41yrs, of Longbenton. This would make her only 11 when her son was born, & she is of full age on marriage license. I'm wondering now if people were allowed to marry at an earlier age then ? & if ages have been correctly given ? |
