Looking at Tarrant deaths between 1851 and 1860, there is no Martha Tarrant but there is a Mary Ann Tarrant who died Andover 1855 Dec Q and also an Eliza Tarrrant who died 1858 Andover, so it seems you will still need to get the birth cert to decide which of the brides in the 1850 marriage is the right one. |

If it helps the only extra thing the image states is that she was naturalized in 1890. |

This Iill we found definately states Thirza was living in Amercia. Have also found her death online. She died in California in 1920. Her book she wrote was called Food Reform Cookery. Think she was a victorian vegetarian according to a book written a couple of years ago that refers to her book in this regard. |

I know! Its all very puzzling. We have copy of a will we found in my grandmothers possessions when she died that was regarding Thomas Tarrants estate and it states in there he had seven sons and three daughters. We know that six of these sons and two of these daughters were by Ann his second wife so he must have not only had Thirza by his first but also another son! Can't find any trace tho. Will have to get Thirza's B Cert I think to trace the mother. |

Having now looked at the image for 1851 I see that Thomas is shown as 26, Carpenter, living in his birthplace of Newton Toney with his mother Sarah, and he shows himself as married, but where was his wife? |
