Tamer Wiseman b1782

My gt. gt. gt. grandmother was Tamer Wiseman b. circa 1782 at Melbecks, Yorkshire. I can only find her in the 1851 census living at Birds Nest with sons John (45yrs), Thomas (42yrs) and granddaughter Ann (11yrs). I am looking for anymore information on her, who her husband was and who Ann's parents were. I understand Ann was born out of wedlock circa 1840 but have no idea of her parents. All ideas greatly received.

This website might be useful.

I checked the 1841 census on it but there was only one entry for Birds Nest...on the 1851 there are three.... Wiseman are . 103 in the listings

Haven't managed to find a maiden name for her.

Sadly she appears to be a Widow on the 1841 census so no help there.

All my Wiseman family come from these areas.

There is a gathering of Wisemans in Kettlewell this July - I think there was one in 2007 where a good number of people arrived from all over the world.

I'll post details if anybody is interested

Thank you everyone - sorry been offline - four children reduces time for research!! But a huge thank you. I am on the case applying for marriage cert of Tamer and think Christopher and Elizabeth went to America, eventually followed by their daughter Ann but not her family. Still ends to put together but getting there - thank you.

Pam

Pam Report 25 Jan 2009 17:47

You will not be able to purchase a nmarriage certificate for Tamar because the marriage was before 1837.
