my gr grandfather thomas humphrey
c1893, lived wembly area, found his military record.
he married winnifred horwood 1-6-1914
but i cant find his birth
he died 1982

If you have the marriage certificate does it give his father's name?

Did he have a middle name? I'm looking for his death as it gives dates of birth in the indexes. Also where did he die?

Marriage index says Thomas Humphreys (with an S)

died london,
prob had middle name, as son was thomas christopher herbert, but known
as chris, on cert says he was a butcher

sorry the s was dropped for his son

The last one - Thame - covers Brill - so if the 1901 census is your chap then this birth is the most likely.

I would have thought Wol would be likely to be short for Walter and Loo short for Louise or Louisa.

There could have been more children born after the 1901 census. You might find more when the 1911 census is released.
