If she married Joseph in 1873, why did she revert to Garbutt for the 1881 census?

Yes, I've checked my notes and Susannah married John Garbutt in 1861 at All Saints Church Hawnby, so she definitely was his wife, therefore a Garbutt.. Strange..

Thanks Ericthered, yes I would have thought she would have married as a Garbutt, but she did live with him as his servant for a while, so now I'm wondering did they marry... Thanks again...

Yes David thats the one... I have managed to find that one too. Thank you.. I believe she married Joseph Featherstone in 1883 and also think she died 1910..

Thanks for that Ann of Green Gables, but thats not the one, my Susannah was born 1813 so in 1881 she would have been 67 ish.

can't find her as Boyes or Featherstone

the Joseph Featherstone that marries in 1873,does so in Knaresborough

not certain this is the right marriage though( only one I can see)
