Hi ,
could any one look for a family of mine in the 1901 census please.
They are Robert Faulkner c1860 and Wife Amy/Bethany c1857
in the 1881 census they lived at 4 blue Anchor Lane Hobbs terrace with one daughter Sarah age 0.
by 1901 they should have five daughters.
Sarah,Elizabeth,Rebecca,Emma and Amy.
According to my tree they should still be at the same address
This is them in 1881

You did request this on my thread and then deleted it?I looked at the 1891 and noticed a child you hadn't mentioned-George he died 1894 and thought you may wish to add him to your tree.

Do you know something,
you have just solved a massive problem i have having with Bethany.
I had that birth it was the only one with that name that i could find,then on her marriage that i think i have got right she is Amy and in the 1881 she say's she was born Camberwell.Well all i can say is many many thanks.

i think that the Annie is mistranscribed and she would be Amy/Bethany also

The Hawkers from Eastborne tie in with the fair story.

Interesting Catherine.I noticed her maiden name was Roland wasn't it?There is a birth in 1857 for a Bathany Roland in Eastbourne,Sussex.-Strange how Kent was written cos Eastbourne is in Sussex?

that's the birth for Amy that i have,but my father inlaw claims that on her birth cert (which i am attempting to get hold of ) it says Bethany?
Any way, I wonder if cos they were travelers,she may have been born one place and registered in another.Bethany had a twin Elizabeth.

just read the Kent on the census,
do you think the boundary changed? This family were almost certainly illiterate! which is why the names are spelled wrong also they probably had a sort of gypsy accent.

i really do think you have the correct family,as my father in law was born in Blue Anchor lane where his grandparents lived previously.

No i think Eastbourne was under Sussex at this time and agree its more likely that as they were traveller's they had moved around alot and were not exactly sure where they were born or what county it was under.Least you have George and Roberts death and Amy's birth will give you the answer if that birth record is her.
