Hi Susan,
I'd forgotten about this thread, but now Jenny has brought it up I've looked up a few names in the newer birth indexes.
The Goldstones (with mother's maiden name Goldstone) born in the same area as you, and closest to you are all boys, so may not be connected, but are probably worth investigating.
Barry 1958 Brentwood
Barry 1957 Brentwood
Alan A 1957 Chelmsford
David 1955 Braintree
Barry is a member of this site so it might be worth an e-mail to him.
Good luck,
Janice

Hello Susan
I have been reading all the replies you had for your search, people are so kind and i hope you have found some family.
I don't think this will help at all only i have recentley found a eleanor Louise Goldstone in my family. She married my gt uncle William Shilstone on 29 6 1907 in poplar. They lived in Manor Park but did move to Essex at some point around the Rochford area. I do not know any more about Eleanor except regards her children.
Best Wishes
jenny

If you type Doreen Goldstone into QuickSearch boxes at top of page, she has been posted by a Marie. Might be worth an e-mail as Doreen was also born in Chelmsford.

my mum made a point of telling me i had 3 siblings i can't remember but i think all sisters. so pretty unlikely she was my mum at 13. haven't found any Marie? You are restoring my faith in human nature thanks for trying so hard have ordered cert.

hang in there Susan love, someone will come up with something for you I'm sure

just a thought - could you not say you need your birth certificate for something or other? or don't they put much info on it? Also what about the area you were living in when you were adopted - they must surely have records.

I fully understand that you don't wish to upset your elderly mother - after all, to her you are her daughter and I think it's lovely that you found a nice Mum.

Someone called Marie on here has Doreen in her tree.

Janice

Janice Report 15 Nov 2008 21:40

Do you think she might be a sister or your mum having you at 13?

Birth indexes give your mother's maiden name as Goldstone too so presumably she was a single mum. Can we find her birth? Goldstone isn't a common name. If you don't want to put her name here, e-mail one of us to look her up in order to find your gran's maiden name and then hopefully your grandparents.

Hi there Susan = first of all one thread is all that is necessary so can you please delete the other one!! thanks

Now to trace any family you will have to come up with some names and the best place to start would be your grandparents, where they were born and roughly when
