Marriage certificate of Richard and Sarah and death certificate of Robert arrived Saturday.
Robert died Oct 10th 1857 in Brownlow Hill Workhouse Liverpool aged 45 occupation carman. So I think this is the right one.
I am sorry to have confused everyone but on the cert it says Richard was a batchelor. With James Taylor being 22 in 1871 and therefore born around 1849 and the marriage was 1857 I wrongly assumed that James was a child from Richards previous marriage.
The details on the cert are December 11th 1857 Liverpool Richard Taylor full age Batchelor, Labourer, Father James Taylor ,Gunsmith.
Sarah Fowler full age Widow ,Father Richard Hartley,Fisherman.
Both residence at time of marriage is Lime Street. Witnesses Nicholas Burns and Martha Davies.
On the 1851 census there should be Sarah fowler b 1817 Sarah Fowler daughter b1839 Robert Fowler son b1842 and also this James b1849/52 according to census if this is Sarah's son. If Sarah had left husband Robert she might have been living with Richard Taylor in 1851 if James was their child.
I have searched for them under the name Taylor and looked for James Taylor, Richard's father a gunsmith to see if I could find Richard before his marriage but couldn't find anything.
Any help or other suggestions would be very grateful.
Regards Mary

Hi Vera Thank you so much for that info. I definitely think that is him. Right age and on his son's 2 marriage certs he is down as coachman and cardriver. My aim now is to try and find Sarah and daughter on 1851 and to find out who was Robert's parents or his birth/christening. I have found info on Sarah her parents and siblings but cann't find anything about Robert. It has taken me a few years to get this far with the Fowlers and I have nearly given up many times. When I find out about Robert that will be my goal and I may give up then. I really appreciate all the help and time you have given me. It is very much appreciated. Regards Mary

It's the Fowler family who I am descended from and I thought Sarah Fowler and her Daughter Sarah who was born 1839 had died as I could not find them on the 1851 Census. I was thrilled to find the marriage to know she was still alive. Regards Mary

I wonder?? These are definitely Taller on the image, but I notice that in 1871 Sarah worked in a market, and that ties in with this 1861.
