No I dont think you are doing anything wrong...it is notoriously difficult to determine exact ages and it wasnt uncommon to find differences on all manner of documents... |

but 7 yrs older than her man....and as i cannot find her being 7 yrs older on births...strange ..and unable to find her on census before her marriage...doing my head in Aaaarrrr....thanks Joanie |

This is the only Richard Parr and Catherine from Liverpool that I can find on the 1871 census. Is this them? Did they have a daughter named Christina? If so, the ages are even more out! |

Hi Lass, sorry delay i have been looking for her, that means she wud be 18 at time of marriage but it defo says 30 years and its a photo copy of original doc not copied.....looks like i will have to get copy of birth cert to make sure and her pa is Martin not too common...thanks for ur kind help....Joanie |

wow....this would fit in with marriage cert..Selina and why i cud not find them before marriage, i checked witnesses and the woman lived in Liverpool at some point and came from Ireland...the man was from Bolton...so a link there.....thank u Selina i think we may be on right track....... |

But that age works in with all the censuses. So I would take it as correct. Maybe the age on the marriage certificate was wrongly copied from the vicars notes to the certificate. Or, maybe, because Catherine would have been under 21 when she married, she exaggerated - hugely! |
