IVE JUST RECIEVED THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE OF MY GT GRANDFATHER HERBERT GEORGE ELMER 4 OCT 1907 IN WEST WINCH, LYNN. I HAVE HIS PARENTS AS LUCY ANNA ISABELLA LUSHER AND EDWARD JOHN MATTHEW ELMER HE WAS A COACHMAN IN WEST WINCH FREEBRIDGE LYNN. IM TRYING TO FIND ANY INFO ON THESE AS I STILL SEEM UNABLE TO FIND ANYTHING.

That is them, as they are living next door to the Lusher family. - Check out the image. (Lucy seems to be using a second name). There is also a further Elmer family headed by the widowed Sarah a few doors away.

But look at the gap in age with those kids. The 8 year fits for the first - have we a number of deaths or are any other kids with rellies?

If you look on FreeBMD.org and select Freebridge L and select births 1893 to 1920 with the surname Elmer you will find quite a few Elmers.

just to add to helens post-edward is a coachman.

Check the image and take all the Lusher and Elmer details on the page on board. At a wild guess, as Edward was born Aldershot, the father was in the army.

thats great thanks for that, the scary thing is is that helen has found theyre sub district as middleton. thats where i live now even though my parents are from london!!

Farnham is where his birth was registered - it is quite close to Aldershot.

As we said the fact he was born in Aldershot would point to dad being in the army - Aldershot was and still is an army town.

Helen found the boy with a father shown as Chelsea Pensioner. A Chelsea Pensioner is an ex soldier who has been released under a pension, normally due to an injury sustained during his service.

Had another look and deffo not connected to my lot, (unless it is way before 1800 anyway) although i do have John and Edward Elmer names in my tree, they appear in the census in North Elmham and the bmd refs are in Mitford district.

just had herbert elmers birth cert come through his father is edward john and his grandfather is john.
north elmham hasent popped up on my tree, but you never know!
