Just got back from work!

Liz had the discs and very kindly found that John Veale & Sarah Cobbly married 24/05/1826 at Dundry. Think I will check sites mentioned above and if not will order the cd to confirm the childrens baptisms.

Many thanks for everyone's input and if any of you ever need a Bristol baptism or marriage please let me know and I will check my discs

Marcelle - have you looked at the online catalogue of Somerset Records Office?

www.somerset.gov.uk/archives/

I notice one item they have is "Letters of administration of the estate of John Veale of Chew Magna, carpenter." dated 1846.

If you can't get to Taunton, they will provide copies of items by post for a reasonable fee and are very helpful on the phone.

jansmith Report 10 Sep 2008 08:29

I think unless i had a birth cert i would'nt feel i was 100% sure of correct mother if there is a possibility of other surnames

Marcelle Report 10 Sep 2008 08:19

No I haven't. I know you shouldn't take what other people tell you for gospel but one of the trees has a lot of info & fact on it (except birth cert) lol

It is a toss up between birth cert £7 or disc £8.50

Samspade Report 10 Sep 2008 08:19

Marcelle Report 10 Sep 2008 08:15

Forgot to say. I tried looking at Ancestry marriages but do not seem to have the access I use to have. Think they have changed what we can look at

jansmith

jansmith Report 10 Sep 2008 08:15
