Find Ancestors

Im trying to find my GGG grandparents on familysearch but just cant seem to locate them.

Some of you will know that I have this problem and you clever people usually find something that I cant so I hope someone can help this time.

Here is what I know.

Richard East was born in Abbey Dore, Herefordshire, in 1839.
Emily Hoskin was born in Dorstone, Herefordshire, in 1836.
(these dates are from 1871 Wales census)

They married in 1860, RD of Hay. I am going to send for the marriage certificate but hoped to find something - anything - about them on the usual sites.

Richard's family, if I am correct, came from Llowes in what is now Powys but was then Radnorshire.

Cant think of anything else to tell you, but please let me know if this is not enough info and if I have anything else you need I will post it.

Yes Diddy, I think it is. Although the census reads Abzoor as his place of birth, I think it may have been the pronounciation - AbbyDore-Abzoor, what do you think?
Also if I have the correct parents for him, they also had a daughter Elizabeth.

Diddy - that is defintly him on the 1851. Some years later, his daughter Sarah was in service at a pub in herefordshire - with the sam John and Mary Webb (dates/ages match). so Im certain thats our man

This is great and confirms most of what I know about Richard and his family (although I cannot find a maiden name for Richard's mother Ann.)

I cannot though, try as I might, find out anything about his wife Emily. I cannot find a birth at all, unless her name wasnt Hoskin. I know from the census roughly where she was born (Dorstone in Herefordshire - not too far from Abbey Dore where Richard was born, from Llowes (which is just on the border) and from the area where both Richard and their daughter Sarah worked for the Webbs).

Is there anything out there about Emily?!

Don't know if this is the correct James.

I found that death for Ann at age 26 too (sad).

As for the others, very possibly the right family as all the places are near to Llowes, Hay, Appledore etc and somewhere Clodock and Longtown have come up in the family already....

I think I will need the marriage cert for Richard and Emily to find out anything about Emily herself. I keep wondering if she was married before and Hoskin wasnt her maiden name.
