Not on IGI

Does anybody have access to pre-1837 marriages for Middlewich, Cheshire.

John Jepson married Ann in about 1829

His father also John would have married in about 1799.

Can anybody help please.

Regards

Simon

LindainHerriotCountry Report 25 Aug 2008 10:53

some of them are on the IGI

Middlewich
C089951 1751-1795
M089951 1751-1812
(Queen Street Independent)
C076701 1809-1837

the fathers marriage should be there, but there are no results for a Jepson marriage, so he must have married elsewhere

LindainHerriotCountry Report 25 Aug 2008 12:00

No as I said, there are no Jepson marriages in that batch number, for the years covered when the father should have married, so he must have married elsewhere, perhaps in the home parish odf his bride

Thanks everyone for the tips and help

I think this might John Jepson abt 1805

John JEPSON (AFN: 105W-95T) Pedigree
Sex: M Family

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Event(s)
Birth: Abt 1805
Hale Barns, Cheshire, England

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Parents

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Marriage(s)
Spouse: Anne LEIGH (AFN: 105W-962) Family
Marriage: 30 Oct 1829
Manchester, Lanc, England

I need to confirm this marriage.

I now think John and Ann must have moved to Middlewich after they married.

I wonder where in Manchester the marriage was, that might indicate Ann's home parish.

I have found a John Jepson abt 1775 from Altrincham on Trevor Halls GR tree, which might be John 1806's father.

I might just crack this one. I live about 5 miles from Hale and Altrincham so I could track down the original records.

Simon, the children for the John and Ann I found were all born in Sale, Cheshire not Middlewich ??
Also if they moved to Middlewich after the birth of the children why was Samuel buried in Sale??.
I know Sale is not that far away but something just dosen't seem right.

Blue Moon

Thats them ok, thank-you.

Was Hannah Jepson living with her Sister who was married to David Cowlishaw in 1851. She was only 17 and didn't marry until 1855.

Also is John Jepson abt 1775 on the 1841 and 1851 census. I can't find him on IGI birth or marriage.

Thanks once again
