Changing names all the time, they weren't on the run?
Oh dear, another early death, sounds a bit suspicious to me!!

Just to finish it off in the 1881 Census

William and Jane were living with Edward and Annie at Railton Road

Their children William and Eleanor were living at 15 Drury Lane

Their children Emma (also known as Harriet) and Frank were living at Oxford Terrace, Park Road

Don't know what happened to Henry (under the floor boards?)

Harriet who had something wrong with her also vanished after this census.

Thank you for an enjoyable afternoon

Just seen that Jane was back living with her sister in 1891.
He wasn't back in prison I hope!

Sorry just remembered.

No, Jane had just had enough of him so he went to live with his son Frank and his wife Frances Carter at
53 Beadwell Road Lewisham.

BUT

In the 1901 census he was not living there and the only William Joseph Hollis I could find was living at Rowton House (Work House). Right age 70 but says he was a parliamentary messenger!! Has the leopard changed his spots?

Good for her, never too late to learn!
Think he must have been lying about his profession though. Wouldn't put it past him.
