Hi I have trying to study the information posted above come to the following conclusions what do you think??

1851 Census which Dea posted I beleive is correct one at Churchman would be approx 36

1841 Posted by Lost for Words seems possible for Bolney House as Churchman age is listed as 25 (give or take) although on the 1851 census says he was born in Cuckfield and not Boney

1841 Census listed he was married to a Harriett (there is a big age difference almost 20 years) Unless he was married previously

On the 1851 he is married to Fanny which is the one I believe is correct

Your opinions would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Paula

I think LFW was pointing out that the Churchman who married Harriet was the son of Churchman and Sarah b c1813 - Therefore - 'your Chrchman (who married Fanny) is most likely to be the son of Churchman + Elizabeth and born c 1815.

The one who married Harriet I would ignore for now as it will only confuse, however he is most probably related in some way so save the info for a later date !

For now - concentrate on Churchman b c 1815 Cuckfield - son of Churchman + Elizabeth !

Hi Dea

The furtherst I can get back to is 1791 for Churchman but does not give much info on it and does not give wifes name of Elizabeth

Think I will have to call a halt to this for the time being and perhaps contact the Susses FHS.

I have searched some of the male side of the family and thought I would start on the female side but this is more difficult it appears. The man keeps his name and of course the woman keeps changing hers??

Thanks again and will post if I get stuck (will not say brick wall because I know this irritates some members LOL) mine is just a couple of courses high at the moment.

Regards Paula
