This is an old post, and Lania may well have left the site, or no longer check this thread

GR does not send notifications of new postings on threads.


You would be far better to send her a pm (personal message), and give her the information that way.


Just click on her name, type your message in the box, then click Submit


GR will then send an email to her home address to say there is a message waiting in the GR system.


Then all you have to do is hope that she still has the same email address that is on file with GR

Just looking at your post.

You have got the wrong parents for these 2 boys. There parents are William Smailes b1802, and Isabella Archbold b1804, and married 12 nov 1827.

1841 England census shows William age 35yrs, a fisherman, with his wife Isabella age 35yrs, and children Margaret age 12yrs, Jane age 11yrs, Elizabeth age 10yrs, Isabella age 6yrs, Eleanor age 5yrs, and Robert age 2yrs, are living at Craster, Northumberland.
1851 England census shows William age 49yrs, a fisherman, with his wife Isabella age 47yrs, and children, Elizabeth age 19yrs, Isabella age 16yrs, both house servants, Thomas age 8yrs, William age 6yrs,and John age 1yr, are living at Sea Houses, Craster, Northumberland.
1861 England census shows William age 60yrs, a fisherman, with his wife Isabella age 59yrs, and sons, Robert age 22yrs, Thomas age 18yrs, William age 16yrs, all 3 are fishermen, John age 11yrs, and also a niece Alice Darling age 25yrs, are living at 11 Sea Houses, Craster, Nbl.

I have extensive info for all Smailes and Archbold families out of Craster.

That still doesnt make sense because Margaret married him 1868 and he has supposedly had another child with another woman that year and 10 years later he had 2 children with both woman. HELP

I think that John smailes born 1844 and Margaret Dawson 1845 married in 1868 and they had 3 children Rachel 1870, Ralph 1876 and Isaac 1878. Then i think Margaret died and John remarried a Mary Ann 1847 and they had 2 children James and Mary Ann. I just need to confirm it all

Thanks for that can you find out what year he married Mary Ann and what years the children were born.

I have John Smailes 1844 marrying a Margaret and 2 sons Ralph and Isaac. I just want to know if he married a Mary who may have died and had a child James.

Also if a Thomas Smailes 1841 married twice once to a Eliza 1833 and once to a Margaret Hudson.

The John Smailes married to Margaret says his place of birth is Dunstan. Is that where Netherton Moor is?

Just Googled Netherton Moor and it's near Bedlington, which is where the John married to Mary Ann says he's from in 1881.

I only found the marriage when Ericthered gave me a website on this thread. All of the dates add up so i just want to know if John married twice and had anymore children

If you have John marrying a Margaret - why did you ask if he ever married?

Why don't you post the details you have so people can see what you need, otherwise they are spending time looking in the wrong direction?
