Jeanette

Thank you for looking.
Maybe,...George ended up going to Australia as promised in his letters to his brother? Now I need to find if he did.!
Is there any way I can find if he went to Oz? at that time?

Further to the history behind

GEORGE BAMFORD

George was discharched from the army 19th June, 1866
and his trade was
tobaconist

and would be living at
113 Scotland Rd, Liverpool

If anyone might be able to find him for me in the 1871 census, it would be great
Thank you

George Bamford born 1835 Liverpool, Lancashire

He joined the 95th Regiment of Foot in 1855 at Liverpool and served in the mutiny in India from 1857 to 1867.

His regiment then returned to England and I was hoping some one might have a look in the 1871 census and see if he is there.

In the past his surname has been mistranscribed as Bumford.

I have him in the 1841 census and the 1851 census living with his brothers, I think by 1851, his parents Thomas & Ellen had died.

Thank you
Jan (in Australia)
