Sorry Dea not answered before but not been online, GGF supposedly was born in Strood - his name was John William Slater, he married Margaret Ellen Quinn in London in 1913, his father on the marriage certificate was George Slater but dead at time of marriage (he was listed in the Merchant Navy). The only John William I can find is one born in Strood but has a dad named Richard, John William is not on any census and supposedly he lost all contact with his family after his marriage to my GGM, any help would be really appreciated as have been searching for nearly 3 years now.
