PS.
Mum did remarry, but much later and it has no bearing on this.

Hi Soph,
Yes, I know the exact dates (it's my husband's sister).

Is there any way to search to see what name the child was re-registered under?

Did the child with the new name marry?
Perhaps we could find the marriage in the new name, then work back.

Rose,
Sorry, I think I'm making it sound too complicated!

All 7 of them were registered under the biological Fathers surname (Mr B).

The middle 4 of them were later re-registered under the Mothers first husbands surname (Mr J)
I knew what her first husbands surname was, so was easily able to find them re-registered under J.

But 1, was later re-registered - but I don't know the surname.
The index has been amended, but as I don't know the surname, I don't know where to look for the re-registration.

So, I was wondering, as I have all the details for that one, if it was possible for anyone to look to see what surname they were re-registered under.

So you're saying 1 was registered with a surname that wasn't the mother's first husband's surname, the mother's maiden name or the child's biological father's surname?

Gaelyn,
Yes I do.

I have all the details, just not the surname they were re-registered under.

I better explain!

My husband and 4 of his siblings were registered under the Father's surname (he lived with them).

Later they were re-registered.

4 of them were re-registered under the Mums first husbands surname, who she hadn't seen or lived with for years, although she was still legally married to him.

1 was re-registered, but I don't know the surname she was re-registered under.

That's the one I'm trying to find about about. Or rather find what the 'new' name was.

Which was why I was wondering if anyone could search under fist name etc only.

Wendy, She never married the Father of said child, so I'm still stuck.
