This will probably turn out to be Frances. Why not? JJ's name was completely different on his birth cert too.

This thing may not be dead and buried just yet. Thanks to T in Middlesex, Charles Aldridge has been found. He married Kate Nora Salmon in Suffolk, 1873.

I've noticed a coincidence? He has a son called Geoffrey, too young to be JJ's father of course, but still a link to the name.

Hi Sue,

I don't think we'll ever find out who JJ's father was. I strongly suspect that Joseph or Charles Aldridge had an affair with either Frances, Jane or Clara Weston and they had a son who went on to father JJ. It's the only logical explaination for the relationship between Jane Weston/Falconer and JJ and Frances.

It's a shame that I haven't been able to find Jane b1837 or Frances b1835 after 1851. I'm sure they went on to marry but I can't find their marriages or see them on the 61. I'll bet anything one of them has an illegitimate son with her!

The Weston/Falconer's ended up all over the place because the stepfather Edmund Falconer was a famous playwrite who travelled around the UK.

What a pity this family can't be added to your tree. Although they belong there, the link between JJ and Jane Weston is missing.

Deb may well not be watching for any new posts ..... and GR does not notify people of new postings.

May I suggest that you send her a pm (personal message). Just click on her name, write your message in the box that appears, then click Submit.

GR will then send her an email to say there was a message waiting in the internal system.

Then all you have to do is hope that she still has the same email address that GR has on file.
