Find Ancestors

I am trying to trace my Grandads family.,James(jimmy)Tatton who came from a family of 7+,,he had also 2 sisters,Agnes and Edith.
One of his brothers named Frank,the rest i do not know.
The whole family lived ,i think lived in Josiah Wedgewood St,Etruria,Stoke-on-Trent.Staffordshire.
My grandad James had a grocery shop in Wellesley St,Shelton with his wife,my nan,Lucy Tatton.,from the late 50's to 1982.
would love to hear from any relations.

When was your grandad born? Once we have foung that we will know his mother's maiden name and then we can search for siblings.

OK, so it was pre mother's maiden name. Have you got his birth certificate with the mother's maiden name on?

Sadly havent got my grandads birth certificate,and not sure when Frank Tatton was born.

Well the first port of call is to order his birth certificate.

I can only find one James Tatton and this is the info you will need to order the birth certificate. You can order from www.gro.gov.uk and if you click on yes to is GRO reference known you will be charged £7

how can i find names and birth dates of the children of Annie Tomlinson(Tatton)-Arthur Tatton.
There were 7+ including my grandad James William Tatton.

Jackie,

You need to locate their birth certificates and order them. The only other way is if your grandad was baptized. I would have a look at local churches to the area he was born. They usually used the same one. So if you can locate a baptism for your grandad you will more than likely be able to locate the others.

If not, you need the birth certs I am afraid.
