Just wondering Debs if David had a sister Jane ?

As the entry on IGI is extracted and not submitted and no mention of the father I would have taken this as the child being illegitimate.

There is an entry on IGI but as I don't know the area it is probably wrong...doh!!

Yes I think I am going to have to but I really cannot see him being William's son his wife Mary died in 1859 the other possibility for him being his son and Jane as mother on IGI doesnt bear thinking of
