I've had a quick look for Sylvester Barlow - Ancestry has three refs - the birth as above, a death ref in 1915 for a child born 1914, and a birth ref for an Alexander Sylvester Barlow b 1896. If you are looking for a marriage, it may need to be for Alexander S. Barlow.

This is the birth ref:

Name: Alexander Sylvester Barlow
Year of Registration: 1896
Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
District: Bolton
County: Greater Manchester, Lancashire
Volume: 8c
Page: 452

Hi Ivy. What about a marrisge cert between Alexander Sylvester and Rosie Fearnley. He was always called sy which is sylvester if his first name was Alexander he might not liked being called by that name. That Birth ref i think wouild be him. On the thread you sent me to trace living people what is the symbol after the word thread before the letters tk olive

Hi Olive

Apologies, was away from the computer when you posted. Rather than trying to type the thread ref, just highlight the reference, right click it to copy and then where you would normally type a website address in whatever browser you use (internet explorer, Firefox, Netscape etc), just paste the reference as the website address you want to reach. (Hope that makes sense!)

I should imagine it is the symbol over the number 7 on the keyboard, i.e. the "ampersand" symbol, &. Ahh, yes, it is, the typeface changes between the edit box and the posted version.

Have just re-read your thread and realised that you have Ron's birth certificate. I've pm'd you.
