yes i`m lucky that the last lot of kieltys my granddad new were on the census as keelty but he said it was a curly i and not an e so a spelling mistake i suppose

my maidin name is kilty, but my father spells it kielty and his brother spells it kielthy, confusing or what. My sister spells it kielty on my marraige cert i am down as kilty.

As the mother (Ann) was born in Ireland, I would think it's highly likely that it was in Ireland where she married...........

Buy the son's birth cert to find out for sure what his father's name was.........although..........

yes thats them i came across that spelling too. but then i get stuck with ann cant find a birth or maiden name i think her husband was a hugh as well
