Thanks for the info, I am new to this and seem to be going round in circles! 'My late father looked like the Barnatos in the book 'The Great Barnato' but can't seem to find out where I fit in, or why my father had such a strong resemblance! Skeletons in cupboards I think. |

Not a lot! only the info that Andy has written. I think my late aunt who lived in London also did a bit of digging but no one really wanted to know! My father was born in 1911 in Southsea to Benjiman and Lily but it looks now as though my grandfathers real name was Jacob, my father was born with jewish names which he changed later on. Thanks for trying to help. Jenni |

If you purchase Benjamin and Lily's marriage certificate, it will give you their fathers' details which will help further |

Emmanuel was my fathers name at birth and Gerald was my uncle My father changed his name to Jack later. He also had Ruby, Pearl and Leo in the family, never heard of Miriam. Would like to find out who my grandfathers parents were out of curiosity. there are a few Barnatos around, must be a link somewhere. |

Made more interesting because a well known member of the Barnato family has refuted the fact that my maiden name is Barnato and she said my aunt was told the same years ago, which just makes me more keen to find out why, especially as my father looked so much like some of the Barnatos in the book. |
