The Lady Marion Report 13 Feb 2008 00:06

Hello can anyone help please. On the 1841 Census for
the Borough of Lambeth,Hamlet of Peckham ,Parish of Camberwell is listed a Katherine Hershey aged 9 years born in Foreign parts as it has a tick besdie her name. Catherine is staying with the Boughton family-Stockbrokers. I do have the Census and spent almost one hour last night zooming in and out on Catheine Hershey,s name giving myself a stiff neck in the process. Some have suggested the surname is Henky but I dont agree with either Hershey or Henky. The last three letters of Catherines surname seems to be...egy. The last two letters being
g and y have loops on them. Looking at the Census and trying to understand the lettering with other names the first letter of the surname could be ..h or ..k. Can anyone with a good eye help with this one.

Regards Marion
