Find Ancestors

please can any-one help me? ive searched for 6 months ready to give up.
Im looking for my grandmother's marriage her name is
Ellen Taylor born 4/6/1896 in Liverpool known as Nellie.Her "husband" is Henry Clayton and thats all I know about him.
They had 6 children starting in 1924.
Harry c1924
James c1926
Lilian cc1928
Margaret Rose 1930 my mother
George c1932
Alan 1942 (not his child)
All were born in Liverpool
I never met him so he must have died before I was born in 1952
They were not a very close family and all moved away once married.
I will be so grateful of any help or idea's

I've had a look on freebmd for the children from the marriage and I can't be 100% sure of any of them. Do you have your mothers birth cert??

I've also had a good look for a marriage, nothings turned up. Is it possible they weren't married?? Could it also be possible that one of them were married and left the marriage and set up together??

You don't get mothers names on marriage certs !! - not in Liverpool anyway !

I can't see any of their chidren's births on FreeBMD.

Were they registered as Clayton?

Freebmd may not have marriages this late. But have you checked the complete bmd index for the marriage? Are you sure that this was not a second marriage for one of them?

I presume the birth cert for your mother has her mothers details on there too??

On the thread above you stated that your grandmothers details were on your mothers marriage cert, did you mean her birth cert??

I think most people are puzzled as to why we cannot find the other siblings on freebmd, I think Pam may have access to another site.

hi dee yes i did mean birth certificate.it just says ellen clayton formerly taylor. I did find my mothers on ancestry but none of her brothers and sister
