Trying to find relatives of the rushtons from leeds. they lived in the hunslet area in the 1900 era. my mother was linda rushton, her mother and father were hilda warburton and fred rushton. Im looking to go further back i know my grandfathers mother was sarah jayne and father fred, fred seniors father was edwin glover rushton and he married mary?

I find it strange edwin was a boarder on the last entry and not with his family, it is definately him, he was my great,great grandfather. I would like to go back further. Alos he married mary who i now know to be dennel and i remeber my grandfather telling me they had an adopted son called John Dennel.. strange as all the other children were rushton. With the adoption, it depended on how old he was and if he could decide what name he wanted when he was adopted..older children may have kept their registered name where as babies and infants had the family names.

You will need to get birth certificate of John T to find out if he was son of Mary or Alfred.

I Know The G in Edwins name stands for Glover, maybe he had 2 surnames, possibly moved from somewhere else to find work here in leeds, maybe thats why theres no records previous to this of the family, looks like i might come to a dead end here...any suggestions?
